I stand back and watch

keen to remove myself as a possibility

watch as your mouths move a million times a minute

to the beat of the gap that has grown between you

and within seconds 

you are 

rekindled

and I smile

I've known for a while all you want is love

from those that you want to be a part of

I've known for a while that you need me

to step back

so I do

and I see you 

smile and laugh

hugs hope and happenstance

with a family you have just wanted to be a part of
